How do you select an evidence-based, research-based program for implementation?

You begin by conducting a search. There are three options.

- Research SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-based Programs & Practices at www.nrepp.samhsa.gov:
- The Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) at http://casat.unr.edu/bestpractices/search.php will allow you to:
a. Substance Abuse Prevention strategies,
b. Violence/Anti-Social Prevention strategies, and
c. Related Prevention/Education strategies.
At the website you can click on a strategy to get information about that strategy and supporting citations. Also available, you will find a list of prevention programs alphabetically.
a. Find an Intervention,
b. Pick a topic, area of interest, age, race & setting, and
c. One intervention found: Family Matters.
